CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A pair of iconic No. 3 Chevrolet Monte Carlo race cars driven by seven-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt will be part of a special Richard Childress Racing display during the April 19-22 Food Lion AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Charlotte was Earnhardt’s home race track and the native of nearby Kannapolis made his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at the legendary ribbon of asphalt on May 25, 1975. It was also the site of some of his most memorable moments, many of which came in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star race.

Why did they stop producing the Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

I heard they stopped producing the chevrolet monte carlo last year. I have a 2003 Monte Carlo LS. Does anyone know why they stopped production? Was it poor sales?

Replaced by the Impala.
