A suspected shoplifter hastily trying to leave a Dollar General on Thursday morning hit the building before she drove off, police said.
No one was hurt at the store, which is at 1515 Pamalee Drive.
The woman left the store at 8:12 a.m. after dropping merchandise near the door, said Gavin MacRoberts, police spokesman.
A manager followed her out and was on the phone with police as the woman got into a white Chevrolet Beretta station wagon.
As the woman was leaving, the station wagon jumped a curb and and crashed into a window near the store entrance, causing about $200 to $300 in damage, police said.

Deputies were called to Sunrise Park, 20499 Edgewater Dr., Port Charlotte, at 8:05 am and found a1996 green Chevrolet Beretta stuck in sand with the hood,
