SUV kills man attempting to cross Casper street
A man died Wednesday morning after he was struck by a sport utility vehicle while attempting to cross East Second Street — the second fatal pedestrian crash in Casper in two weeks.
A Cadillac Escalade struck the man as he crossed East Second Street at Pennsylvania Avenue about 8:45 a.m., said Casper police Sgt. Steve Freel. The man, described by police as “older,” was headed for the north side of the street when he was hit.
Police did not release the pedestrian’s name.
Emergency crews tried to resuscitate the man at the scene. He was pronounced dead after being transported by ambulance to Wyoming Medical Center, Freel said.
