Although some people think that technology will save mankind from itself, most Canadian car buyers are just thankful for whoever was the genius that came up with heated seats.

But beyond keeping you warm on a chilly morning’s commute, the über-competitive automobile industry continues to introduce new technologies at a breakneck pace.

Here are my picks for the most technologically advanced new cars on the market:

As the newest member of the German Flagship Sedan Club, the new A8 (pictured at top) trumps the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S Class in the “gee-whiz” department.
