SAN JUAN The issue of political corruption is again taking center stage in Puerto Rico as ruling party Sen. Antonio El Chuchin Soto struggles to explain how he came to be in possession of an automobile valued at nearly $500,000.
The secretary-general of the governing PNP, Hector Morales, demanded Wednesday that Soto resign, while Senate President Thomas Rivera Schatz says he has run out of patience with El Chuchin, whose ostentatiousness is matched by a penchant for ill-considered comments to the media.
