The 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe hits the dyno, makes big power

The 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe tested by the Inside Line forced out an impressive 331 horsepower and 362lb-ft of horsepower but it should be pointed out (for anyone who might be unsure) that those numbers are based on the amount of power put the ground. The 335hp and 332tq stated by BMW are the ratings at the crankshaft and typically, modern rear wheel drive vehicles have a drivetrain loss somewhere around 15%. Based on that number, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe should be putting roughly 285hp to the wheels and about 282lb-ft of torque but the newest M vehicle features an “overboost” feature where the engine allegedly makes 370lb-ft of torque; although the driver has no input as to when the vehicle chooses to engage the overboost feature.

Best Result Of The Season So Far

“I know I’ve been in a real race today but it was fantastic fun and I really enjoyed it,” Olly said. “We’ve a great team around us at Corvette, and we can really build on this momentum and move forward now to Elkhart Lake in two weeks time.”

Beretta started third on the GT grid, holding a determined pair of BMW drivers at bay until the first full-course caution came at 48 minutes into the race.  Olly took over the No. 4 Corvette, emerging in third again after the pit stops.  A brilliant five-car battle for the GT lead then broke out, with team mate Jan Magnussen fourth in the No. 3 Corvette. The running order shifted suddenly when the No. 62 Ferrari lost positions due to a fuel pump problem, and the No. 3 Corvette went to the pits for coolant.  Olly moved to second, and then took the lead with an outside pass in the Turn 2 Keyhole. He raced wheel-to-wheel with Bill Auberlen’s BMW through the next three corners, finally making the pass stick, and quickly opening up a 1.4-second gap.

Does anybody know how to setup bluetooth on the BMW 1 Series?

My friend just bought a BMW 1 Series and on the steering wheel it has buttons. One is a phone symbol and the other is of someone speaking. We tried pressing the buttons but we're having problems setting up the bluetooth. Does anyone know how this is done?

The BMW 1 Series has to have the premium package or BMW assist for the bluetooth to work. You will also need a BMW compatible phone. If you have both you will first need to get your phone ready to pair to the car. Then go to the menu button near the radio
