Audi Q3: new baby luxury SUV targets Evoque and X1

The Audi Q3 has arrived in Australia, bringing yet another option for buyers looking for an affordable luxury SUV.

The Q3 continues Audi’s process of shrinking its SUV models, joining the large Q7 launched in 2006 and the mid-sized Q5 released in 2008.

A Q1 model, based on the A1, is also anticipated, though for now the Q3 starts at $44,800 to start $17,400 below the cheapest Q5.

It’s a fraction costlier at entry than the rival BMW X1, which kicks off at $43,990, but is several thousand dollars cheaper than another competitor, the Range Rover Evoque that costs from $51,495.

The standard Panamera 4.8 litre engine produces 493hp but through careful development and testing using Sportec's state of the art dyno test cell in Hori, Switzerland, Sportec's engineers have developed a pair of upgrade packages for owners seeking additional performance.

Package one features a bespoke Sportec ECU remap, with optimised settings for fuelling, ignition and turbo boost parameters. The results boost the output of the car by 67bhp giving it a total 560bhp at 6150rpm.

It can hit 60mph ( 100km/h) in 3.9 seconds and has a limited top speed of 190mph ( 315km/h ). The price for this package is £2900.00 fitted, the Sportec Stage One upgrade for the Porsche Panamera Turbo is on sale now from sole UK concession APS of Brackley.

Package two includes the same Sportec ECU remap as package one but also features the addition of a cat back stainless steel sports exhaust system, which features quad 90mm diameter Sportec engraved tail pipes, for a subtle, understated look. Another features are the 'sound throttles,' which enable the owner to define and switch the exhaust note of the car in real time, using a supplied remote controller.

Is an Audi TT coupe suitable for my first car?

So, I am getting my license next week! I am looking for cars, and the Audi TT coupe caught my eye. Is it suitable for me? I will be driving to school, around the town, and on short trips. I was also looking at the BMW 328i coupe. Do you have any more
